Illuminated Signage Designed, Manufactured & Installed In House

In the autumn/winter months the days tend to get dark very early. The sun goes down around 4:00pm and unlit signs become hard to read, which is bad for business!

Some shops miss out on vital business as they have a printed shop front sign which is not visible in the dark, and most potential customers pass by on foot without noticing the signage. This is where illuminated signs come in very useful.

Shop front signs that light up are a great way to attract attention in the winter months. Luckily, we specialise in all sorts of illuminated signs, with 3D letters, fret cut trays, LED signage, halo illuminated letters, lightboxes and projecting signs.

This means your business is seen around the clock.

The benefits are numerous:

  • A well lit sign can attract the attention of a prospective client who might not have otherwise noticed your business.
  • You’ll be taken more seriously; you are clearly the sort of company that is not afraid to invest more money in their signage, but most of all you’ll be more visible.
  • It will also make your property easier to find if a client needs to find you after sundown within trading hours, or if your business is 24/7.
  • Quality tested LEDs can last as long as 100,000 hours, and we have 15 years’ experience (with quality lighting). This is 3-6 years longer than fluorescent or neon, which is why you don’t see too many of those around anymore.
  • Illuminated signs are so bright that they can often be seen during the day as well as the night, thereby optimising your chances of being seen whatever the time of day.
  • LED signage is environmentally friendly. LED signs only use around 10 watts of power, which is 80% less energy output than traditional neon signs.

Illuminated signs can be used indoors as well as outdoors. A well lit sign in the front window of your shop/office, for example, can generate lots of attention, and stand you apart from the dull shopfronts of the streets around you.

Illuminated Signage: questions

What types of illuminated signs are on the market?

Options include lightboxes and flexi face signs; letters with halo illumination, where backlighting creates a halo effect; fret-cut logos with internal illumination, where logos or designs are cut out of a solid panel so interior lighting shines through; and pencil/trough lights and spotlights, which use focused lighting to highlight specific areas or features.

What are lightbox signs?

Lightboxes are typically constructed with an aluminium frame that houses LED lights. The front of the frame is covered by an acrylic panel, onto which the graphics are printed. When the lights are turned on, the illumination spreads throughout the entire acrylic panel. For larger lightboxes there may be joins in the acrylic panel, which may be visible when the lights are on; a flex face sign provides a seamless appearance without any visible joins, even in larger sizes.

What is a flex face illuminated sign?

Flex face signs feature a printed skin stretched tightly over the aluminium frame, similar to a drum skin, held in place by hidden clips along each edge of the sign. Large distances can be covered without visible joins, and if you need to update the graphics you only need to replace the skin rather than the entire sign.

What are fret cut illuminated logos?

Imagine a rectangular sign fixed to the wall of a shop with LEDs inside, and your business name and logo cut out from the front of the sign. When you turn on the LED illumination, the light shines through the cut-out letters and logo. We use lasers and machinery to cut out the logos and letters, then apply an acrylic sheet inside the sign box and seal it to prevent water damage.

What is trough light illumination?

Trough lights, also known as pencil lights, are a cost-effective way to illuminate your signage and increase its visibility. These lights are often installed separately from the sign itself, making them a convenient option that can be added at a later date. They are positioned either above or below shop signs and emit light that shines back towards the signage.
